The Lotus Journey:
A Philosophy of Healing
At the heart of my practice is the belief that healing is not about perfection—it’s about transformation. Like the lotus flower, which rises through the mud to bloom in the light, each of us holds the potential to grow through what we go through.
“Just like the lotus, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world.” – Attributed to Buddha
The lotus flower is more than a symbol—it’s a reflection of what it means to reclaim your power, even when life feels messy, painful, or uncertain. It grows through darkness, yet is untouched by it. It opens and closes with the rhythm of the day, reminding us that we are allowed to rest, to heal, and to begin again.
“Like the lotus flower that is born out of mud, we must honor the darkest parts of ourselves and the most painful of our life’s experiences, because they are what allow us to birth our most beautiful self.”
– Debbie Ford
This is the foundation I bring into the therapy room: a space where your story—your light and your shadows—is honored without judgment. We don’t rush through the mud. We sit with it, learn from it, and allow it to become the soil of something beautiful.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure… As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
– Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love
Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about walking with you as you unearth your wholeness, honor your truth, and step into your power. Whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, identity, mental illness, or simply the overwhelming weight of being human, I see you. You are not too broken. You are not too far gone. You are worthy of healing.
This is your invitation to rise. Muddy feet, messy story, open heart—you are welcome here.
You Are Not Too Much:
A Therapist Who’s Been There
For a long time, I believed I was too much—too complicated, too emotional, too broken to be helped. I carried labels that made me feel more like a diagnosis than a human being. I was called a “lost cause,” dismissed by systems that were supposed to support me. But the truth I’ve come to know, both through my own healing and my work as a therapist, is this:
You are not too much. You are a human being with a story, and your pain is not a problem to be fixed—it’s a wound that deserves to be tended to with care, compassion, and respect.
I don’t just come to this work with degrees or textbooks—I come to it with lived experience. I’ve sat in the darkness. I’ve questioned whether life was worth it. I’ve fought tooth and nail to stay. And I’ve learned that healing is possible, even when it doesn’t look or feel the way we imagined it would.
Now, as a therapist, I don’t see people as broken—I see their bravery. I see the parts of them that survived what was meant to destroy them. I hold space not just with clinical skill, but with deep empathy. I won’t pretend to have all the answers. But I will show up with honesty, presence, and the unwavering belief that change is possible—even when it feels impossible.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re too much—or not enough—I want you to know: you are not alone. You are not beyond hope. And you are never too far gone for healing.
Let’s start exactly where you are. Together.
